Since 1966, the Town of Windsor, CT has chosen a queen to reign over its Shad Derby. This year marks the 48th coronation of Windsor's own Shad Derby Queen.
This year's Shad Derby Pageant consists of 15 candidates. Each candidate is sponsored by a Windsor business or organization. The judging criteria for each candidate is based on their involvement in their community and their school, knowledge of current events, poise, personality and attitude when asked the question, "Why do you want to be this year's Shad Derby Queen?
The judging culminates with the Shad Derby Coronation Ball at which time the new Shad Derby Queen is selected.
